[Eco Bounty] False Success Message: “IoTeX Network Successfully Added”


Summary

When clicking “Add IoTeX Network” on the IoTeX Scan site, the system displays a message saying

“IoTeX Network successfully added.”
However, the IoTeX network is not actually added to the Wallet.


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open https://iotexscan.io/ in a browser where Wallet is connected.

  2. Click the “Add IoTeX Network” button.

  3. Wait for the prompt message.

  4. Check Wallet → Network list.


Actual Result

❌ A success message appears (“IoTeX Network successfully added”) but:

  • No IoTeX network is visible in the Wallet,

  • The wallet remains on the same default network,

  • No confirmation or RPC setup occurs.


Expected Result

✅ When the message “IoTeX Network successfully added” appears, the network should:

  • Be visible and selectable in DID Wallet,

  • Include valid configuration (Chain ID, RPC, symbol),

  • Be confirmed with a proper prompt/notification.


Impact

  • User Confusion: Users believe IoTeX was added, but no change occurred.

  • Integration Failure: Indicates possible bug in network registration API or wallet compatibility.

Inconsistent UX: False positive message creates distrust in wallet feedback.
